The Mayagüez Children’s Library is having an Open House and book presentation on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the library. Mayagüez historian Juan Lagoa González will present Beloved Mayagüez: tales for the pride of my people, his book of stories from Mayagüez history. Although the book and presentation are in Spanish, library staff will do their best to make monolingual English speakers feel at home. Definitely if you have not visited the library before, we will give tours in English; you’ll also be able to  read about the stories from Mayagüez history in English. The book will be on sale to benefit the programs of Estancia Corozón*.

*The Mission of Estancia Corazón and its staff and volunteers is: to respond to the duty of each member of the community to improve the quality of life of the community as a whole by serving marginalized, disadvantaged, needy and sick people, by valuing human dignity, fostering values, education, mutual respect and self-sufficiency.  In this way to providea workshop and model of justice, social awareness and commitment.
